Chicago Region SCCA March General Membership Meeting
March 27 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
The Chicago Region Board of Directors invites you to join us for the kick off of our 2024 General Membership meeting season. The first meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Blackdog Speed Shop, 600 Barclay Blvd, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 beginning at 7pm. There is always something interesting to see or look at when at Blackdog. Since we were last there they have a new race car for this year’s race season. It’s something you will want to check out.
The program for the March meeting will be a visit back to the heyday of SCCA road racing. Tom Stephani and Larry Fulhorst have been working on a project researching the CanAm starting with the early beginnings of the USRRC (United States Road Racing Championship) all the way through to the single seat CanAm cars of the 1980s. At our meeting their focus will be on the original CanAm from the mid-1960s to through 1974. If you were there during that time you know what it was like, very fast cars and a lot of noise. If you missed it, Tom and Larry will introduce you to one of the greatest racing programs there ever was.
So, we’ll see you at Blackdog Speed Shop on March 27th.
Chicago Region Meeting Schedules
Board of Directors – meets on the second Wednesday of the month (invitation only)
Competition Committee – typically meets on the first Monday of the month
Autocross Committee – typically meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month
Track Day Committee – typically meets the 4th Wednesday of the month.
General Membership – Third Wednesday of the month in October, November, January, February, March, and April
