Chicago Region SCCA ‘Wine in Time’ Spring Tour
May 18 @ 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
The Chicago Region SCCA G.O.A.T.S. (Get Out and Tour Series) organizers are ready for a spring drive, and we hope you’ll join us on Saturday, May 18, as we make our way via scenic backroads to Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin.
If you’ve never been on a G.O.A.T.S. tour, they are non-competitive fun drives on public roads with a navigator guiding the driver from written instructions. This tour will provide an enjoyable day of driving, complete with twists, turns, elevation changes and rural scenery. The approximately 120-mile route of the “Wine in Time” tour ends at the Wollersheim Winery, Distillery & Bistro in Prairie du Sac, where we will meet for lunch and socializing.
The vineyard began in the 1840s and turned to dairy farming during Prohibition. In 1972 the property was purchased by the Wollersheim family, who resumed wine making. Wollersheim Winery is a National Historic Site and has won many awards for its wines. After lunch, if you like, you can visit the wine tasting room or the distillery.
