Corvette Racing’s Doug Fehan to Speak at SCCA Chicago Region Meeting October 22
Race fans will get a chance to hear Doug Fehan speak about his career and Corvette Racing at the general meeting of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Chicago Region. The meeting will be held October 22 at 7 p.m. at K1 Speed in Addison, Ill., and is open to the public.
Fehan is program manager for Corvette Racing, which he helped start in 1999. During his time with the highly successful program, its teams have achieved 94 victories in endurance racing – 82 in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), seven at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one at Daytona and four this season in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship series.
Fehan began his career in motorsports by racing a homebuilt Chevelle stock car on the USAC circuit in the late 1960s. A chance encounter with GM Racing Director Herb Fishel launched his career with GM, first with Oldsmobile’s IMSA World Sports Car program and then GM’s factory-backed Corvette racing program. Fehan received the Spirit of Le Mans Award from the Automobile Club De l’Ouest in 2014 and the ALMS “From the Fans” award in 2004 and 2008.
Doug is the reason you always wanted that YELLOW Corvette!
Also on display in the lobby of K-1 Speed will be the Blackdog Pirelli World Challenge GT Corvette campaigned by Tony Gaples!
