ALMS is almost here! Here is an update!
We still need help on the corners for the three days of the ALMS event, next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (August 16-18). Why should you come out? GREAT RACING! Trans-Am ground pounders! USF2000 Open Wheel! Quick and agile Prototype Lites! Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge! Capped off by the 5 classes of American LeMans Series endurance racing, likely the fastest cars that will be at Road America in 2012! We’ve been waiting for an SCCA car to break the 2-minute mark, these guys run for hours in the 1:45 – 1:55 range! That’s INSANELY fast!
OK, why else? All staff at the Thursday night worker party will have a chance to win ALMS and Road America SWAG, donated by the teams participating and Road America! Don’t want to lay out the $30 for another ALMS t-shirt? Win one!
Dinner? You bet! Thursday night we will have a worker party with Steak Sandwiches, Grilled Chicken Breasts, Backed potatoes, Sweet Corn, Baked Beans, and everybody’s favorite – Turtle Brownies! What about Friday? MORE FOOD! The best pizza you are likely to find outside of Chicago!

Chicago Region is offering a free gas card to every worker who registers for the event before Thursday at 7:00AM and works on Thursday!
(Up to 50 cards to be given away.) At the worker dinner Thursday night we will draw from the pool of staff who went through registration before 7:00 AM and worked that day, with 50 cards available. That means if fewer than 50 people work Thursday, you are guaranteed a gas card! What if 55 work? You have a 50 in 55 chance to win a gas card! You don’t get sure bets like that very often!
What about the campground? Additional space has been cleared and prepared at the new exclusive worker campground. There is lighting, and toilets that flush. There will be a shower provided as well, with access to the single stall shower in the house on the property, as well as the usual access to all the showers on the main property. No race fans walking through the worker camping doing who-knows-what to your stuff, no public campers partying and keeping you up all night (just the SCCA partiers!).
