Michelin & BF Goodrich’s Peter Calhoun to Speak at SCCA Chicago Region Meeting April 15th

Chicago Region members are invited to come hear one of their own at the April General Membership meeting. Peter Calhoun – Motorsport Manager for Michelin North America and BFGoodrich Tires, a 30 year Chicago Region SCCA member, will return home to enlighten the audience on Michelin’s global motorsport programs, which includes the SCCA Pro Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires series.
A native of Downers Grove, Peter attended his first race as a child at Road America during the unlimited CanAm-era, joined SCCA in 1984 and quickly became an active and nationally competitive autocrosser, culminating with the C Modified SCCA Solo National Championship in 2009.
Since uprooting from Chicago, Peter has been the Series Manager for the SCCA Pro Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup in 2010 and since 2011 has been the Motorsports Marketing Manager for Michelin North America responsible for the BFGoodrich brand’s motorsport engagements and partnerships along with Michelin’s club racing activities. During his short tenure BFGoodrich has secured (7) SCCA Runoffs Gold medals, (2) SCORE Baja 1000 and (3) SCORE Baja 500 victories, plus championships in SCORE, Best in the Desert, TORC, Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, Rally America, NASA, CASC, and Ultra4/King of the Hammers.
In addition to this special presentation, Chicago Region will also take this opportunity to award anniversary pins in recognition of continued membership. Our Region is honored by over 100 people eligible for awards ranging from 5 to 60 years of membership. Come out to K1 Speed in Addison to take part in this special event!
