Chicago Region lost a 66 year friend and hard working member.
On Thursday June 11, 2020 as the green flag waived to begin this year’s Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints® sadly the checkered flag fell for one of our dear long time members, Suzanne E. Cooper. Sue, joined SCCA in 1954 and had just celebrated her 66th year of membership with the Chicago Region. She and Bill Cooper were wed on May 9, 1959 and the couple were always at the track with a friendly smile and enjoying the club and their friends company. She was an avid racing fan and could always be found at registration providing fresh Kringle for the registrars every morning. Sue will be missed, and for those that knew her, we’ve all lost a dear friend.
