December 2018 REmarks

Hello Everyone,

We just had the Chicago Region, SCCA Annual meeting that was well attended, thanks to all of you. I always enjoy seeing people at our race events and having a little more time to talk at our non-racing event.

We are working hard on planning our 2019 season, budget and final reports for 2018. Our goal has been to get the schedules to everyone as soon as possible. It appears that we will have another full year of events between all of our groups and the Checkered Flag Dinner. If you haven’t joined us, please try hard to join us; ask others; you won’t regret it.

We will also be planning to have two street survivals that are a very important to the region and Route 66 raceway. Big thanks to them for all of their support.

Speaking of budgets, tell your specialty chiefs and boards if there are any large purchases or planned expenditures so they can get it in the budget. This will help all of us and we can have a better view our financial position.

Another request, please bring your ideas and willingness to help implement them would be welcomed. Great ideas are “great” but many times we need people to execute those plans.

Lastly, please welcome Roger Vilmur to the Board of Directors. The rest of board include myself, Erik Vandermey , Steve Laske, Adam Gottlieb, Peter Jankovskis, Bob Stone, Ed Locke and  Jack Novak.

Happy Holidays,

Chris Gregor
