February 2005 REmarks

Caroll Shelby, Winner of the first June Sprints in 1956, is returning 50 years later as our Grand Marshal.

I for one am looking forward to meeting this living legend of the racing community, and to listening in as he talks with his peers, such as Augie Pabst. I’m not sure yet what Mr. Shelby will be doing, a lot of that depends on how he is feeling and what the track would like him to do, but I do think he will be able to attend our worker/driver dinner, and in Conjunction with Bud Porter of Autometer will be handing out the $5000 check one lucky first place driver will be receiving.

We will keep everyone posted as things develop.
