Chicago Region Members Inducted Into CenDiv Hall of Fame at All Worker Training

CenDiv all worker training was held on Saturday, March 17, 2019 at the Best Western Airport Hotel in Milwaukee.  Approximately 130 people attended. The meeting opened with presentations from SCCA national staff. After these, volunteers broke up into specialty groups for the remainder of the day.  

Lunch time festivities opened with a presentation from retired Area 5 Director Bruce Lindstrand to newly elected Area 5 Director Peter Jankovskis. Peter received a bottle of aspirin and a new tie-died SCCA shirt like those that Bruce was famous for wearing at events.  After a good laugh, we got back to business with presentation of some well-deserved awards.

Chicago Region members Scott Sanda and George Laws were honored by being inducted in to the SCCA CenDiv Hall of Fame. Each was given a silver plate to commemorate the occasion. Both will have their names engraved on the Hall of Fame trophy. Tony Machi said that the selection committee would like to put the trophy on display at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. He is looking for ideas from members as to the best way to do this. The day ended about 5:00 pm. The participants all seemed excited to have another year of “Fun with Cars “ under way.
