New Year Message from the Regional Executive
Happy New Year one and all, My name is Dave Tatge and I’m honored that the Chicago Region Board of Directors has elected me to serve as your new Regional Executive for 2025. I joined the Chicago Region in 2013 and, since then, have been involved with Road Racing as a driver in the SRF3 class. My exposure to the Region actually goes back to the early 70’s when I spent my summers at the June Sprints with my father who worked on the fire and rescue crews. Little did I know then that 55 years later I’d be serving on the region’s Board of Directors.
As I enter my third year on the board, I’d like to thank our retiring RE Roger Vilmur. The region benefitted greatly from his leadership, insight and organization. He was a master at facilitating robust discussions amongst board members. A hearty thank you also goes to outgoing board member Chris Gregor. His contribution as a former RE, board member, and Solo committeeman has been fantastic… and we will miss his roaring laugh.
We have a great group of returning board members including Rick Bentson, Heather Ingraham, Peter LeSueur, Linda Novak, Anthony Serrecchia, and Rich Walke. And we welcome two new members Chris Dvorak and Jeff Kumler. I can assure you this is a very experienced and well rounded board that will be working in the interest of ALL our members. Please reach out to any of us with questions, ideas, compliments or constructive criticism on the affairs of the Region.
The Chicago Region has set the standard for excellence in conducting a wide range of motorsports events. We will continue to work hard to maintain those standards and at the same time seek ways to improve the positive experience for all involved. But along with that, I’m going to ask that we work to energize our efforts in attracting and retaining new members. This work is something all of us can and should be part of so stay tuned for more on this subject in the coming months.
Now, on to a few 2025 events coming up right around the corner…
