October General Membership Meeting

The last official Chicago Region General Membership Meeting of 2013 is almost upon us! Please join us at the WeatherTech World Headquarters in Bolingbrook, Il on October 16 at 7:00 PM.  We will have the official meeting to vote in the new Board of Directors for 2014, quickly recap the 2013 Chicago Region season.

Also, the CEO of WeatherTech, David MacNeil will speak to the group and give small group tours of the WeatherTech facility.

But wait, there’s more! Bryce Baker of the Illinois Truck Enforcement Association will be our guest speaker!

Bryce will speak about the following:

1. Info about the Illinois Truck Enforcement Association
2. Enforcement issues regarding auto racing trucks/trailers with RV plates.
3. Enforcement issues regarding CDLs and auto racing trucks/trailers.
4. Financial and liberty impact of overweight & CDL violations.
5. Solutions and suggestions for dealing with enforcement in these situations.

The ITEA is a liaison organization that educates and advocates on both sides of the legal equation.  They seek to educate local enforcement officers to help standardized how the Illinois transportation laws are administered, and also work with drivers and owners to educate the facts surrounding Illinois law. The truth is that Illinois has complicated laws that are rarely fully understood by recreational and amateur drivers, as well as rank-and-file law enforcement officers. This leads to non-uniform application of the laws across jurisdictions, both in enforcement and judicial context. They can help drivers/owners avoid common errors that are easily addressed.
