2016 Chicago Region Spring Tour

Do you like to take your car on exciting backroads drives? Are you interested in scale model train railroads, and do you enjoy a good craft beer now and then? Well, if you said yes to these questions then we have a day planned for you. Join us on our spring tour Sunday, April 3, 2016. Just before the racing season jumps into full gear, the Chicago Region is hosting a back roads tour to the Toy Train Barn and Minhas Brewery and Distillery.
The Toy Train Barn is an actual barn in southern Wisconsin that was home to a herd of dairy cows has been transformed into a toy train museum. The barn is owned by former Wisconsin & Southern / Wisconsin & Calumet Engineer Buck Guthrie. He is a lifelong collector of American Flyer Trains as well as other toy trains.
The Minhas Craft Brewery is the Midwest’s oldest brewery (est. 1845) and the second oldest in the entire nation. Surviving the depression, prohibition, brushes with the mob and two major fires. The brewery offers tours, samplings, and a museum. “The Herb and Helen Haydock World of Beer Memorabilia Museum.” Valued at over $1 million, it is the largest museum of its kind. Featuring hundreds of brewery advertisements from the past, Lithographs and prints from the mid 1800-era. The museum also holds a collection of tap handles, growlers, model cars, trucks and trains from all around the world. Also visit our gift shop to buy beer, clothing, glassware and souvenirs.
