As you may know, the CDC’s interim guidance suggests the postponement of events involving more than 50 people. It is the Chicago Region SCCA’s priority to do our part in protecting the public health while still planning and conducting our scheduled competition, driving, and social events.

It is with great sadness that we announce that we have cancelled our annual Spring Training, scheduled for March 21-22.
Weather was not a factor this time, sunny and warm, (rather hot by the end of the day) but very nice overall. There were three recommended stops on the tour allowing participants to sample and pick up cheese, wine or beer.

I belong to several clubs and no surprise to anyone, they’re all car and motorsports-related. Each has its own distinct activities, members and its own feel (or vibe if you’re from the ’70s like me).

No flimflam, no gimmicks, just another great opportunity for some Cheese, Wine, and Beer and to spend the day with friends for some “Fun with cars”. Save the date, Saturday, April 27, 2019 the next Chicago Region SCCA backroads tour.
The Chicago Region SCCA hosted our second back roads tour of the year on Saturday October 13. Thirty five cars entered the event, Miatas, Corvettes, Porsches, a Jensen-Healey and several other makes of sport and performance cars, all started the event under cool temperatures and cloudy skies.

The route for the tour is approximately a one hundred and forty five mile drive (about three to three and a half hours) providing scenic roads with plenty of turns and elevation changes.
