2019 SCCA National Championship Runoffs
The 56th SCCA National Championship Runoffs were held at Virginia International Raceway October 8 through October 13. A total of 597 entries participated on the 3.27 mile course in the 28 classes eligible for Majors competition.
Chicago Region drivers brought home two championships and five podium finishes overall.
Cooper MacNeil won in Touring 2, capturing his first championship and a Super Sweep title as well.
Mark Boden won in Touring 1, his first championship in 10 years. Mark also finished second in Touring 2 and third in GT-2, the only driver to finish in all three podium positions at this year’s Runoffs.
Greg Gyann finished third in Prototype 2.
All races were streamed live on the SCCA web-site and are now available for on demand viewing.
Next year’s Runoffs will be held at Road America from October 5 through October 11. There should be strong fields at the June Sprints and Kettle Regional next year as drivers prepare for the Championships.
We invite you to come out and join in the fun as a driver, worker, or spectator!
