Tee-Time Tour – October 14, 2017
Chicago Region Fall Tour has a new name; “Tee-Time Tour” (no golf carts required)
Well tour fans the Chicago Region’s fall tour, the next event in our G.O.A.T.S. tour series is presently in the final layout stages. We are planning a back roads drive on Saturday October 14th that should satisfy everyone’s senses. There’ll be great exciting backroads, just enough driving so you’re not tired when you’re done, and an end point for a mid-afternoon lunch. We are planning the end point at restaurant that will provide us with a chance to socialize and visit with our fellow tour mates and enjoy a refreshment or two.
Like this year’s spring tour the start point will be at Loves Truck Court, Rockton IL., at Rockton Rd. and I-90. Registration will open at 9:00 am, drivers meeting at 9:45, and the tour will begin at 10:00 am. The route for the tour is approximately a one hundred and thirty mile drive (about three to three and a half hours) providing scenic roads with plenty of turns and elevation changes. We have planned a mid-point stop at Hawks Mill Winery to provide everyone with an opportunity to enjoy the winery and the views from their estate. As for the event name change, that came about after the route was designed. There are 20 tees within the route and you should be arriving at the end point just at tea time, unless you want a beer. The end point will be at the Anchor in Newville Wisconsin, advertised as the “Hottest Spot on the Rock”. There will be a social hour with appetizers at the end of the tour and if you choose to grab a bite to eat they offer a variety of food items and craft beers. So join us for some “Tee-Time” won’t you, mark your calendars (October 14th Tee-Time Tour) and don’t miss this one, it’s going to be fun on wheels.
