Collectors Car Garage Visit
Join us, as we visit the Collectors Car Garage on May 18, 2019. The Chicago Region SCCA has organized a special event just for members of the Sports Car Club of America to view a collection of privately owned vehicles.
Street Survival – Spring 2019
Chicago Region SCCA will be hosting the first of two Street Survival events at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet on May 26, 2019 from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
A Story of 4 Clubs
I belong to several clubs and no surprise to anyone, they’re all car and motorsports-related. Each has its own distinct activities, members and its own feel (or vibe if you’re from the ’70s like me).
Peck’s Alley and Briggs’ Bend
As the cars of the 1950 Elkhart Lake race negotiated “Ted’s Turn” a tight 110 degree right hander, the field then headed west on a gentle uphill run. The first marker Peck’s Alley, is 0.1 tenth of a mile west of County J on Birchwood Drive (County JP, back in 1950 County X). The second marker on this part of the circuit is for Briggs’ Bend at the intersection of North Turtle Bay Road. This right hand bend in the road is followed with a sudden 15 to 20 foot drop in elevation.

Our condolences go out to Don’s wife, Sharon and son, Donnie on the passing of a devoted Chicago Region member. Don loved being part of numerous Chicago Region activities for over 40 years.

May 2019 REmarks
I know this spring has been some crazy weather. I am so tired of snow and I know many of you are as well. We finally made it to May!
2019 Chicago Region SCCA Learning Curve is in the books!
With weather that can easily be confused for Memorial Day, 40 students gathered at Route 66 Raceway to learn from veteran autocrossers this past Saturday and Sunday.
